Senior Mechanical Engineer - Calgary or Grande Prairie

What you’ll do:
- Liaise with project managers, clients, vendors, discipline leads, support staff, etc.
- Responsible for quality/accuracy of technical content within engineering deliverables
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews, and HAZOPs with the client and engineering team
- Prepare/review engineering design notes, calculations, specifications, and drawings
- Work with others to develop plot plans, PFDs, and P&IDs
- Prepare/review line, valve, tie-in, car-seal, and specialty item lists; PVF and instrument BOMs
- Prepare work packages for field operations and fabrication/construction services
- Provide input into operability, constructability, and operational plant trouble shooting
- Prepare data-sheets, specifications, and RFPs for equipment to be purchased
- Conduct vendor clarifications and prepare technical/commercial bid evaluations
- Work with procurement personnel to purchase and expedite equipment
- Review vendor drawings and documentation
- Coordinate and review inspection and quality control services for fabricated equipment
- Identify and manage vendor changes to scope/cost/schedule
Who you are:
- 10+ years of Western Canada oil and gas project experience
- Experience with pulp mills would be an asset
- P. Eng. with APEGA
- Hard worker, detailed oriented, leader, problem solver
- Ability to work on multiple project deadlines simultaneously
- Effective communicator: both written and oral
- Adaptable to fluctuating hours and workload, driven by project needs
- Currently residing in North America

Either employee or contractor status may be considered for this role. Rheaume has a competitive, multi-faceted compensation plan including a competitive hourly rate based on experience and education, health and dental benefits, and RRSP matching.
